LIBRARIAN'S VERDICT

A landmark whisky. It offers the peat punch of Islay with the rich, spicy sweetness that only the Indian climate can produce.

The Library Note

Named 'Fusion' because it uses two barleys: Indian barley grown at the foot of the Himalayas and peated Scottish barley. They are mashed and distilled separately, then married in bourbon casks. In 2010, Jim Murray rated it 97/100, effectively launching the Indian single malt category globally.

Sommelier's Perspective

THE NOSE

Heavy, thickly oaked and complex. Fresh fruit, peat, coffee, and vanilla.

THE PALATE

Massive delivery. A mix of peat smoke, custard, mocha, and oak spice.

THE FINISH

Long and intensely spicy with a hint of marmalade.

Sensory Profile

THE PERFECT SERVE

Neat. Maybe a drop of water, but it handles its 50% ABV incredibly well.

Composition

Malted Barley
Corn
Rye
Spring Water

EXPERT TECHNIQUE

A vatting of Indian barley and Peated Scottish barley, matured in Bangalore where the high heat results in a massive 'angel's share' (evaporation) but intense maturation.
