The Library Note
Created by Lincoln Henderson, the Master Distiller who developed Woodford Reserve, Angel's Envy was one of the first brands to champion 'secondary maturation' in bourbon. The name comes from the 'Angel's Share'—the 5% of spirit lost to evaporation each year. Henderson joked that while the angels got their share—what was left in the barrel was so good, it was their envy.
THE PERFECT SERVE
Neat. The port finish is delicate, and adding too much ice or mixer can wash out the subtle berry notes that make it special.
