The Library Note
Produced at El Llano, one of the oldest distilleries in the town of Tequila, Arette is named after the horse that won Mexico's first Olympic gold medal in 1948. The Orendain family uses estate-grown agave from the volcanic lowlands, resulting in a tequila that is earthier and more robust than its highland counterparts.
THE PERFECT SERVE
The 'Batanga': 2 oz Arette Blanco, top with cola, a squeeze of fresh lime, and a pinch of salt. Stir with the knife you used to cut the lime (following the tradition of the legendary Don Javier of La Capilla).
