LIBRARIAN'S VERDICT

The gin that broke the rules. Its balanced, West Coast botanicals paved the way for the current explosion of 'New Western' gins.

The Library Note

Born in Portland, Oregon in 2006, Aviation was a collaboration between distiller Christian Krogstad and bartender Ryan Magarian. It was designed specifically to be a 'cocktail gin,' with a botanical blend that prioritized lavender, sarsaparilla, and citrus over the traditional heavy juniper of London Dry.

Sommelier's Perspective

THE NOSE

Fragrant and floral with dominant lavender and sweet orange peel.

THE PALATE

Creamy and spicy with a soft juniper backbone, notes of sarsaparilla, and a herbal brightness.

THE FINISH

Clean and citrusy with a lingering floral sweetness.
