LIBRARIAN'S VERDICT

A masterclass in Japanese balance. While many gins are a frontal assault, Roku is a sequence of delicate movements—a spirit that values nuance and seasonality above all else.

The Library Note

Produced by the legendary House of Suntory, 'Roku' (meaning six) represents the four seasons of Japan. It uses Yuzu peel (Winter), Sakura flower and leaf (Spring), Sencha and Gyokuro teas (Summer), and Sansho pepper (Autumn) to create a spirit of extraordinary balance and delicate precision.

Sommelier's Perspective

THE NOSE

Cherry blossom and green tea provide a floral and sweet aroma with a hint of yuzu brightness.

THE PALATE

Complex and multi-layered. A traditional gin core is elevated by the smooth, silky texture of tea and the sharp, tingly spice of Sansho pepper.

THE FINISH

Refreshingly crisp with a lingering peppery citrus snap.
