LIBRARIAN'S VERDICT

Rich history in a glass. The balance of searing acid and deep, cooked sweetness is something only Madeira can achieve.

The Library Note

The Blandy family is the only one of the original founders of the Madeira wine trade to still own and manage their own company. Madeira wine was historically heated in the holds of ships crossing the equator; today, this 'estufagem' process is replicated in heated attics, giving the wine notes of cooked fruit and caramel that last for centuries.
