LIBRARIAN'S VERDICT

The approachable king of malts. While some enthusiasts find it too 'safe,' its flawless balance of fruit and oak makes it the perfect introduction to the world of single malts.

The Library Note

Founded by William Grant in 1887, Glenfiddich means 'Valley of the Deer' in Gaelic. It was the first distillery to actively market its whisky as a 'single malt' to the world in 1963, essentially creating the category we know today.

Sommelier's Perspective

THE NOSE

Distinctively fresh and fruity with a hint of pear and subtle oak.

THE PALATE

Characteristic sweet, fruity notes. Develops into butterscotch, cream, malt, and a subtle oak flavor.

Long, smooth, and mellow.
