LIBRARIAN'S VERDICT

The Goldilocks malt. Not too smoky, not too sweet—it hits the perfect center of the flavor wheel, making it arguably the most complete single malt on the market.

The Library Note

Distilled in Kirkwall, Orkney, since 1798, Highland Park is one of the most northern distilleries in Scotland. It uses local Hobbister Moor peat, which is rich in heather, giving the whisky a unique floral smokiness that is distinct from the medicinal peat of Islay.

Sommelier's Perspective

THE NOSE

Heather honey, rich fruitcake, winter spices, and Seville oranges with aromatic smoky peat.

THE PALATE

Succulent with flavors of tangerine, dried fruit, and toasted nuts, wrapped in a blanket of sweet smoke.

THE FINISH

Long and spicy with a lingering, sweet, heathery smoke.
