The Library Note
Estimated to have begun distillation as early as 1742, Lagavulin is located on the edge of a rocky bay on the Isle of Islay. It is famous for its slow distillation process—the slowest of any Islay malt—which gives it a characteristic richness and oily texture that has earned it a cult following worldwide.
