LIBRARIAN'S VERDICT

The ultimate gateway to scotch. It strips away the pretension and leaves you with a beautifully balanced, sweet, and malty spirit that is arguably the most versatile whisky on a backbar.

The Library Note

Named as a tribute to the malt men who, in the old days, would turn the malting barley by hand. This physical labor often caused a strain injury that made their arm hang low like a monkey's—hence the name. Today, it represents a break from the stuffy traditions of scotch, offering a liquid that is as comfortable in a cocktail as it is neat.

Sommelier's Perspective

THE NOSE

Zesty orange, vanilla, honey, and spiced oak with a floral undertone.

THE PALATE

Mellow vanilla with spicy hints, nutmeg, and a touch of berry fruit and honeyed malt.

THE FINISH

Medium length with a smooth, spicy wood finish and a hint of peppermint.
