LIBRARIAN'S VERDICT

The new standard for London Dry. It is a return to form for a category that had become industrial; a gin that is as uncompromising and traditional as it is smooth and versatile.

The Library Note

In 2009, Sipsmith became the first copper-pot distillery to open in London in nearly 200 years, successfully challenging a centuries-old law that required a minimum still size. Produced in Hammersmith, this gin is distilled in 'one shot'—meaning the botanicals are never added as a concentrate—resulting in a spirit of extraordinary balance and clarity.

Sommelier's Perspective

THE NOSE

Classic and floral. Dominated by piney juniper with a bright, zesty citrus freshness and a hint of summer meadow.

THE PALATE

Rich and oily. A harmony of juniper and lemon tart gives way to a complex spice profile of cassia and coriander.

THE FINISH

Long and dry with a sophisticated citrus linger and a touch of orange blossom honey.

THE PERFECT SERVE

The 'Sipsmith Martini': 5 parts Gin, 1 part Dry Vermouth. Stir with ice for 30 seconds. Strain into a frozen coupe and garnish with a lemon twist. Its rich, 'one-shot' texture makes it the perfect candidate for a classic, bracing Martini.
