LIBRARIAN'S VERDICT

The gold standard for flavored spirits. Their hazelnut (Orzech Laskowy) variant is a world-class liqueur in all but name.

The Library Note

Founded by Bolesław Kasprowicz in Gniezno, Soplica was one of the first brands to bring industrial precision to traditional Polish home-steeping methods. Its recipes often involve lengthy aging of pure spirits with natural juices and whole nuts, honoring the 'Szlachta' (noble) traditions of old Poland.

Sommelier's Perspective

THE NOSE

Depending on the variant, either neutral wheat or a vibrant burst of ripe cherries and toasted hazelnuts.

THE PALATE

The pure version is velvety and clean; the flavored variants are thick and dessert-like with authentic fruit integrity.

THE FINISH

A long, fruity warmth for the infusions, or a crisp, dry snap for the pure vodka.
