LIBRARIAN'S VERDICT

The champagne of amaros. It is lighter, brighter, and more expensive than its peers, but its Grappa base provides a unique elegance that is absolutely worth the price of entry.

The Library Note

The Nonino family revolutionized grappa in the 1970s. In 1992, they applied their expertise to amaro, using their own high-quality grape distillate (grappa) aged in barriques as the base. This gives the spirit a floral elegance and a wine-like structure that sets it apart from grain-based amaros.

Sommelier's Perspective

THE NOSE

Delicate and perfumed. Scents of orange zest, apricot, and vanilla with a hint of toasted wood.

THE PALATE

Silky and refined. The harshness of typical amaro is replaced by a gentle bitterness, with notes of honey, exotic fruit, and caramel.

THE FINISH

Clean, elegant, and refreshing.
