The Library Note
Created in 1880 by Louis-Alexandre Marnier-Lapostolle, this spirit was a revolutionary blend for its time. He broke the rules by mixing expensive, aged Cognac with the then-rare essence of Caribbean oranges. It became a favorite of the Ritz and remained a global symbol of French culinary and cocktail excellence.
THE PERFECT SERVE
The 'Grand Sidecar': 1.5 oz Cognac, 0.75 oz Grand Marnier, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice. Its Cognac base provides the drink with a muscular depth that lighter orange liqueurs cannot match.
