The Library Note
Created by the Barbieri brothers in Padua, Aperol was designed as a lighter alternative to heavier Italian bitters. Its name comes from the French slang for apéritif ('apéro'). Its global explosion came with the rise of the 'Aperol Spritz,' which transformed it into a symbol of the Italian 'Dolce Vita'.
THE PERFECT SERVE
The 'Aperol Spritz': 3 parts Prosecco, 2 parts Aperol, 1 part soda water. Build in a large wine glass with ice and garnish with an orange slice. The bubbles perfectly lift the herbal complexity.
