LIBRARIAN'S VERDICT

The ultimate cocktail modifier. It is so rich and complex that it can almost be enjoyed as a standalone amaro. In a Manhattan or Negroni, it is the difference between a good drink and a world-class one.

The Library Note

In 1786, Antonio Carpano combined white wine with an infusion of over 30 herbs and spices in Turin, creating the world's first 'vermouth.' The Antica Formula recipe remains identical to that original creation, notable for its rich vanilla notes and its status as the world's most respected sweet vermouth.

Sommelier's Perspective

THE NOSE

Intensely aromatic. Dominant scents of vanilla and dark chocolate are balanced by orange peel, dates, and an underlying herbal spice.

THE PALATE

Luxurious and heavy. A thick, syrupy texture with layers of spice, bitter cocoa, and a unique, deep vanilla sweetness.

THE FINISH

Long, bittersweet, and incredibly complex, leaving a persistent notes of orange zest and spices.

THE PERFECT SERVE

The 'Elite Negroni': 1 part Gin, 1 part Campari, 1 part Carpano Antica. The Antica's weight and vanilla notes provide a bridge between the bitter Campari and the dry gin that no other vermouth can match.
