The Library Note
Legend has it that in 1525, an artist (Bernardino Luini) was painting a fresco in Saronno and used a local widow as his model for the Madonna. As a gift, she gave him a flask of fragrant, amber liqueur made from apricot pits soaked in brandy. That secret family recipe has been passed down for centuries as Disaronno.
THE PERFECT SERVE
The 'Amaretto Sour': 2 oz Disaronno, 1 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.5 oz egg white, and a dash of Angostura bitters. The lemon's acidity is the perfect foil for the liqueur's dense sweetness.

EXPERT TECHNIQUE
