LIBRARIAN'S VERDICT

The ultimate bartender's spirit. It is inimitable, powerful, and arguably the most complex liqueur ever created. It doesn't just add flavor to a cocktail; it transforms it.

The Library Note

Produced by the Carthusian Monks in the French Alps since 1737 (based on a 1605 manuscript), Green Chartreuse is the only liqueur in the world with a completely natural green color. Only two monks at any given time know the exact blend of botanicals, which they prepare in the 'Plant Room' of the monastery.

Sommelier's Perspective

THE NOSE

Electric and pungent. Aromas of mint, anise, sage, and pine needles, balanced by a sophisticated floral sweetness.

THE PALATE

A high-proof herbaceous explosion. Intense flavors of pepper, citrus peel, and menthol are underpinned by a velvetly texture.

THE FINISH

Extraordinarily long and complex, evolving from bitter herbs to a sweet, spicy warmth.
